World Poetry Day

World Poetry Day

World Poetry Day is celebrated annually on the 21st of March and is a day that was established by UNESCO in 1999 to recognise the unique and honour the beauty and talent of poets and the poetry itself across the world. The day is marked by a variety of events, including poetry readings, writing workshops, and discussions about the role of poetry in modern society.

The literary expression-poetry- comes in many different forms and has a long-standing history. The literary form can be embodied in sonnets, haikus, free verse, and slam poetry. If you a poetry enthusiast and have a taste for literary genius, you will thorough enjoy our poetry collection:

DISCOMBOBULATED and Other Poems:

The poems in this engaging collection cover a range of topics, from the seasons to the petrils of overindulging during those seasons (well lets be honest, as well as other times), politics, religion, travel, the obvious superiority of cats over mere humans, and the simple timeless virtues of honesty, sacrifice and charity.

No matter the subject, the poet’s sincerity, humour and intriguing view of the human nature always shines through.

Brushstrokes:

And for a brief moment, we finally set aside
The shield that we don, beneath which our hearts hide

Brushstrokes is an exploration of the nuances of love, the ebb and flow of hope, as well as the search for meaning, clarity and purpose.

A moving composition of poems and prose, it recounts the tale of an electric encounter and ensuing, all-consuming love – with its irresistible highs and perilous lows – that sets into motion a cascade of events. What unfolds is a transformative story of self-discovery, unveiling one’s deepest fears, longings and dreams.

Timeless and universal in message, Brushstrokes invites us on an intimate journey steeped in passion and wonder.

Adulting:

Are you stuck under a pile of responsibilities? Are you uncomfortable with changed relationships? Have you recently realised that you are living in your mind too much? If you answered yes, welcome to adulting. I can only assume that adulting is hard for everyone. I am still trying to figure out the balancing of work-life because clearly I am not a multi-tasker. It’s like relearning about a new version of you, without realising there is one and this is more than something I was ready for, and I guess even you? This book is a cozy corner to help the struggling, to assure the adulting, to inspire readers and writers, and the literal tangible feeling of “I am here for you.” This is the break that you need or the push that you require to move on, but it is something, maybe, a customised experience of relatability. So, let’s explore adulting together, I am sure we’ll find a way to ourselves.

Everyday Poems for the Everyday Person:

\'As a fairly quiet person, I find it easier to express myself through poetry. My poetry is generally about life events and God as a huge part in my life, as I turned to him many times. They are short poems but straight to the point. I hope they are uplifting to you as they uplift me.\'
Beverley Deeming

The Oceans, Swords, & Flowers:

\'A haiku collection formed from my ashes and rebirth.

On my own but not alone. A journey of longing, desire, and growth.

I hope you find yourself here.\' Rei

The Ocean, Swords and Flowers contains some 80 haikus, arranged in three sections. The book also includes many beautiful and evocative illustrations by the author.
