Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental Health Awareness Month

This month Austin Macauley are helping to support and create awareness for Mental Health Awareness month.

Mental Health or Mental Wellbeing is referred to as a state of psychological, emotional and social well-being. It includes both emotional and behavioural stability.

Mental health encompasses one’s ability to cope with the everyday stresses of life. It involves effective functioning in daily activities and the ability to adapt to change and manage adversities.

We stand strong and always offer encouragement and support to our authors, staff and families that may be struggling with a mental health condition.

That’s exactly why we’d love to share with you a select few from our inspirational collection of mental wellbeing books – we’re proud of all our authors and their achievements and hope this selection of inspirational and educational books can help to open eyes and minds, whilst creating awareness throughout Mental Health Awareness Month.

1.     The Small Subconscious Diet

Addressing the daily challenges that occur around diet and food, this book aims to identify that to tackle the world of food, we must tackle the mental diet. The information in this book will challenge and compel you to address the real issues behind why food is impacting you and your fulfilment.

“I do not consider this a diet book at all – but well and truly a book designed to diet the human soul, starting with the thoughts we think or the thoughts that have been imprinted on us from an early age.” – Author: Kieran Mcgarrigan

2.    Loz The Worry Eating Monster

Little worries, big worries, worries about food, worries about school, worries about absolutely anything – Loz loved to eat them!

Sitting in his special chair, Loz would wait for the sound of tinkling silver bells and then be off to eat a child’s worries. It was the best job in the world.

5.    Things Only Get Worse to Get Better

Things only get worse to get better – because they do. This novel delves into the reality of the effects of mental health and the feelings aroused by the various, individual conditions. Unsettling, uncomfortable, unspoken – yet, everyday life for many. An all-round taboo topic that affects hundreds of thousands daily. Despite the short- and long-term effects of mental health, it doesn’t have to be an experience of permanence.

Therefore, this novel explores self-help references to show that a positive outcome is always possible. Depression, anxiety and anger can lead to contentment, confidence and control. Bringing this topic to light is a step away from silent suffering and one towards a solution for any and all.

6. What’s Wrong Arty?

A therapeutic adventure for children, this book can be used as a tool for teachers and therapists as an introduction to everyday problems in life.
