Since opening our doors to both new and previously published authors in 2006, Austin Macauley’s authors have never had a year as prosperous as 2016.  

This year, our publications have achieved widespread critical acclaim. Kevin Lueshing and Mike Dunn’s The Belt Boy, which charts the "hidden torment" behind the boxing champion’s rise to the top, was longlisted for William Hill sports book prize.

Our company is constantly expanding and our influence in the publishing industry continues to grow, and our current authors’ success reflects this.

Local communities offer incredible support by accommodating author events and signings, features in the local press or interviews on the radio. You may have attended one of these events or heard one of the numerous appearances on national radio.

Alongside Kevin Lueshing, other award winners include A.J. Griffiths-Jones’ Prisoner 4374 which won the coveted 2016 ‘Jack the Ripper Book of the Year’ award, and David C. Pike’s London’s Firefighters, which scooped the ‘Bronze Wishing Shelf’ Award.

Additionally, Joanne Welch's The Einstein Code has been listed alongside works by Michael Morpurgo, Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton as an “essential read for Year 6” by Twinkl Educational Publishing.

Our authors have graced the pages of national newspapers and magazines throughout the year such as The Sunday Telegraph, Huffington Post, Daily Mail, The Daily Express, The Culture Trip, International Finance Magazine, and The Irish Times.

Niloufer Mavalvala spent July cooking up a storm as she launched The Art of Parsi Cooking: Reviving an Ancient Cuisine at ‘Books for Cooks’ in Notting Hill. Endorsed by MasterChef winner Shipra Khanna, the cookbook has received international recognition.

Meanwhile, Alicia Douvall took to the renowned sofa of ‘This Morning’ to talk about her recent release Don’t Call Me Ugly with Phillip Schofield and Ruth Langsford; David P. Perlmutter has have been getting into the charitable spirit by raising money for children’s charity ‘Rays of Sunshine’ alongside Cancer Research UK.

We would like to congratulate each and every one of our authors – it has been a pleasure working with you this year, and we are looking forward to an equally phenomenal 2017. Unfortunately, we have not been able to list every achievement, but you have all been remarkable. With exciting plans for 2017, we cannot wait to greet the coming year.
