Easter-Themed Reads and Activities to Relish This Easter
What can be one of the most enjoyable ways to celebrate Easter than the good old-fashioned storytelling? We've talked about it a billion times here; books are a popular way of celebrating the holiday season, and Easter is no different. Apart from its significance in the religious context, Easter is a time to dive into the scavenger hunts, eat hollow chocolate bunnies, and relish every bite of the meal with your family and friends. In this year's edition, we recommend adding a different tradition, more of a literary one, to your list: giving your toddler or preschooler an Easter-themed read.
As Easter is fast approaching, it's a great idea to keep basket fillers in mind, and there's nothing that makes more of a great gift than a good book. Include stories special to you about hope, love, and bunnies and add them to your child's Easter basket, and spread the joy of reading throughout the year.

Easter Themed Literacy Activities
Below are some ideas for Easter-themed activities for young children and preschoolers. Here are suggestions for sensory play, literacy, science, math, crafts, and more!
Counting Phonemes
Using colorful Easter eggs, fill each one with a tiny spring or Easter-themed trinket. You should have a count manipulative. Ask your child to crack the Easter eggs you've made. As the kid cracks open each egg, ask the child to use the counting manipulative to display the sounds heard in each word. For instance, the kid opens an egg with a felt rabbit inside it. Therefore, the kid divides five manipulatives that correspond to each sound that is /r/ /a/ /b/ /i/ /t/. Isn’t that a great activity that is enjoyable and educational!
Rhyming Easter Egg Hunt
For this task, cut out images from the worksheets on rhyming you can easily discover online. Put one picture inside the egg and ensure that each rhyme or egg has a match. Now, put them safely in different places across the house. It's time to play now. Invite your kids and their friends to begin by searching for eggs. When they discover all of them, invite them to break the eggs and match the rhymes together.
Upper Case and Lower Case Matching
Make available the Easter eggs of every letter you'd like to incorporate into this activity and some manipulatives for letters that can fit inside an egg. Make an upper case letter on the exterior of each egg. The lower case letters should be placed in a bowl or basket. Lay the eggs out for your child to look at. Ask your child to locate the eggs and match them to letters.
Letter Sort
You'll require three bins and an Easter egg set for this game, each identified with an uppercase word of the alphabet. Label the bins according to how they'll be classified based on their shapes, like letters with straight edges, curved edges, and letters with both straight and curved edges. Encourage your children to categorize the eggs based on their shape. This will help them with their cognitive abilities.
Sticker Stories
In this activity, ask your kids to choose three stickers from your given collection, put them on a half sheet on a piece of construction paper, and tell them to write a story about the stickers. After they are done writing their own story, ask them to read the narrative to you. While they read the story, record it in the way they describe the story on that paper. This game is perfect for boosting your kids’ creative endeavours and expanding their imaginations.
