Children's Art Week 2021—Brush Up Artistic Skills of Your Kids!

Children's Art Week 2021—Brush Up Artistic Skills of Your Kids!

Art can light up the mood and induce a sense of creativity in children, a lot of children feel confident and accomplished when they are involved in arts. Give children encouragement and opportunities to use their artistic side is important for their development. Numerous studies have supported the role of arts in the cognitive development of a child. Children who have been involved in artistic roles exhibited better problem solving and out-of-the-box thinking than those who didn't get an opportunity in similar roles. Above all, helping your kids in their arts activities strengthens your bonding.

Children's Art Week is being celebrated from the 29th of June to 18th of July every year, encouraging children and young people nationwide to participate in art events in schools as well as online. It is an initiative by Engage, the National Association for Gallery Education, that has also gained the support of Arts Council England and other art councils countrywide. In the past years, Children's Art Week made remarkable contributions in bringing artists and communities together to involve people particularly children in arts.

In the year 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the activities were designed in a way that could be accessed virtually. Several activities were live-streamed including digital challenges, quizzes and virtual tours to art galleries. Unfortunately, Engage is not conducting any events this year.

We are aware of the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic has been ruthless to everyone. In a countrywide lockdown, when no leisure activities could be carried out, children got affected the most. As the cancellation of Children's Art Week 2021 has further left children despondent, so we thought why not get your children engaged in fun-filled art activities. We have come up with our own online art competition for children.
