6 Reasons Why Books Are the Best Christmas Gifts
It can be a mighty feat trying to find Christmas presents that will be enjoyed by family and friends. If you’re anything like us, then you’ll probably want to give everyone a gift that’s as meaningful and personalised as possible.
Unsurprisingly we think that the best Christmas gifts come in the form of books, so here are six reasons why books make the best Christmas gifts.
1. They can be treasured for years
Books aren’t perishable and the best reads will never grow old, this means a book is pretty much a gift for life. The lucky receiver will be able to cherish your Christmas present for as long as they please. They’re the gift that just keeps on giving.
2. Books are relatively inexpensive
Of course it is the thought that counts, but the bonus of books is that they are long lasting, thoughtful and they are quite cheap.
3. Wrapping made easy
Books are, most of the time, rectangular or square and therefore so easy to wrap. This ease of wrapping means you can add ribbons galore and the present will still look great. If you’re sending you presents via mail, then it’s incredibly simple to do so!
4. You can buy books everywhere!
Okay, so not everywhere, but books aren’t just available in bookshops. You can purchase them through online retailers, gift shops and even supermarkets. Convenience at its best.
5. Books are good for you
Fiction, non-fiction and poetry books are all sources of education. They’re great for those brain cells. Even if you decide to jump on this year’s biggest trend and buy someone an adult colouring book, they might not be educational, but they’re brilliant stress relievers and can help with mindfulness.
6. The practicalities
It’s unlikely that a book will need returning. It’s impossible to get the wrong size, or incorrect colour. Other benefits include the lack of batteries required, so on Christmas Day your present is immediately useful.
You’ve probably done all your Christmas shopping by now, but for next year, make sure that you don’t neglect the old faithful present that is a book.

“Books make great gifts because they have whole worlds inside them, and it’s much cheaper to buy somebody a book than it is to buy them the whole world.” – Neil Gaiman
