Yvonne Morgan-McKenzie was born in Yallahs, Jamaica in the West Indies. Always a hard worker; she helped her mother, Olga Morgan, a lot with cooking and cleaning. Later in life she worked in the Cayman Islands first as a cook in restaurants then as a nanny where she helped with raising five children.
As time went by, she eventually moved to New York where she did training to care for elderly people. Yvonne never forgot her roots and spent lots of time cooking. She was always trying different recipes for which “coconut” was a main ingredient.
I am so grateful that after many years of dreaming, I finally have the opportunity to have my own cookbook published. As a young girl I always dreamed of this and after a long time with many days spent walking around with notepads and jotting down all the recipes I could remember and those I created...
