Trevor was born in council house in Wakefield prematurely in 1954. The son of a mineworker Percy and his mother Gladys who was a mill worker. He excelled in art at a comprehensive school and has worked mainly as a self-employed heating engineer and plumber. He is happily married with two grown-up children and four grandchildren. He has always loved nature and has been a patron of RSPB for many years. He also likes all kinds of sports and follows Barnsley F.C. He writes poetry and songs and plays the guitar, Banjo and Mandolin.
