Susan Cleghorn
Originally Susan trained as a teacher but after having her family, a chance meeting with a neighbour prompted her to join the Citizens Advice Bureau where she worked for almost 20 years.
For the last four years, Susan has had what she considers to be her dream job in a library. Here she has had the opportunity to work with young children nurturing their interest in books. Weekly class visits from a local primary school has meant that she has spent a considerable amount of time reading children’s story books. It is this experience which has given her an insight into what children look for in a picture book and an encounter with a garden snail which gave her the idea for this book.
