Timo Savimaki

Timo Savimaki is the fifth of seven children of migrants, raised in a Finnish enclave of sugar pioneers, thus emerging bilingual and duo cultural. This advantage weighs nothing but broadens the outlook. He graduated from the University of Queensland, and worked as an economist in Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra. He took a sea change in 2000 and became a stonemason on the New South Wales coast for a decade until the body said enough. During this time he was an occasional writer for the Moruya Examiner. In Melbourne “retirement”, he has taken up writing, his first novel, A Nearly Murder, published in 2023.
