Raymond Holder has always had a life-long passion for books. His childhood was enriched by Enid Blyton through The Secret Seven and Famous Five and the Rev. Awdry through The Railway Series of Thomas, Henry, Gordon and James. Here, then, is the inspiration for the ten garden birds. Raymond has made them human in the same way that the Rev.
