Lee is the youngest of two sisters and took a gardening apprenticeship at 16 years old and has worked for herself ever since. Her interest in the open air gave her the opportunity to study birds, and the South Coast provided seagulls in excess of all others. Hence 'Born to Be a Seagull'.
