Miriam was born in London, but evacuated to Sussex early in World War Two. She began writing poems and stories at aged 17, and continued doing so while training as a nurse in Brighton. Canada fascinated her, and her stay there has influenced both her English and French poetry. She includes a translation of her seven little French poems. Miriam now lives in Sidmouth and is still writing poetry. Her poems have won prizes in Sidmouth Literary Festival.
