Maus Grant was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1963. She began teaching adults at TAFE in 1989, then eventually went on to teach secondary school while raising her two children: son Kyle and daughter Maddison, affectionately known as Moo.
In 2017 an illness forced Maus into an early retirement. It was then she began to take an interest in writing children’s books to share her love of animals, especially cats.
