Martin Foroz

Martin Foroz (Mohammad Forouzani) is an Assistant Professor of English Language and Literature, born in Iran in 1964. He is presently living in Oman and teaching at the University of Nizwa. His previous publications concern language teaching and linguistics areas, including An Illustrative Dictionary of Semantics, which is in press. Regarding literary pieces, he has been writing poems in both Persian (native language) and English for the past twenty years. His English poems have been published in different literary journals listed in his first collection of poems, Inside Out, published by Olympia Publishers. Martin is a nature-lover fond of photography, and is interested in travelling and discovering new places and cultures.

In his poems, Martin defamiliarizes the knowns, writes of regular irregularities, zooms in and out in slow pace, and reaches pathos in his ink to tell about what’s Out there that creeps Inside—which “makes all the difference”.
