Penelope Kanaar
Penelope started her working life by undertaking ophthalmic nursing followed by general training. After working in different care settings in the NHS, she undertook further training and became a nurse teacher. Following an extended break in Australia, she returned to the UK and after varied roles of pub landlady, village hall caretaker amongst others, she returned to nursing when she took management roles in a hospice followed by elderly care nursing homes. During her life she has volunteered for Riding for the Disabled; Assisted in a Charity Shop; Meals on Wheels. She is a member of her local u3a Creative Writing Group and Amateur Dramatic Society. She has one son from her first marriage and two grandchildren. She lives near Brighton, West Sussex.
