Joanna Wakefield
Joanna began writing poetry at the age of 13 and has read her work extensively at open mics in Perth and the UK. In 2014, her poetry was selected to be shown on the big screen outside the Perth Institute for Contemporary Arts as part of the Fringe Festival. Her work is about place, experience, sensitivity and capturing the moment. Joanna is also a renowned practising ceramic artist and has won several 3D awards. She has exhibited extensively in Australia and England. Her recent writing and ceramic work is about the current situation with refugees worldwide, about loss of culture, place and displacement.
