Jacki Evans
Jacki Evans has been an animal lover all her life. Brought up
with a variety of dogs, cats, small mammals and horses, she
started showing and breeding dogs in the early ’70s, falling in
love with the Hungarian puli in 1978. Now she is a respected
dog show judge who has judged at Crufts and in the USA. She
was always fascinated by what she thought animals might
say if they could talk; she started writing after the birth of
‘Rooster’, of whom she says, “Literally talks to me,” in 2015.
Short stories, mainly shared on Facebook, became longer
tales for dog magazines, and finally, her first book, Rooster:
The Diaries of a Puli Puppy.
She lives in Herefordshire with her husband and family of
dogs: four pulis and two Hungarian pumis.
