Jo Hill

Jo Hill was born in Sheffield and has always regarded living in Yorkshire as like being in ‘God’s top pocket’. She worked with hearing-impaired children for many years, being able to incorporate art and stories to help enrich young lives. It was during this time, that she wrote the story of Herumphmumph for her young daughter.  
The elephant is a real soft toy that she made in junior school as an eight-year-old girl – now a lot more worn and floppy, but just as loved.
