Alexandra Gyasi
Born in Peterborough in Cambridgeshire, England, Alexandra is a Hungarian and West African writer who grew up with a strong interest in the arts. As a child, she had a love of theatre, dance, film and music. Alexandra took an interest in English literature, in particular poetry and lyric writing in high school. At university and pending further education, she was focused on a career, which she successfully started as a musician/artist, especially abroad. Unfortunately, she suffered spiritual trauma after a ‘convenient’ misdiagnosis and miscarriage of justice, which hampered fifteen years of her career owing to an absence of support/legal help – and was also partially why she turned to writing for some time. It proved to be a profound, though disheartening, learning experience. Alexandra has studied in a variety of places, completing courses both in England and New York, and continues to pursue her interests and work in the arts field in various ways including as a creative artist, and a singer songwriter.
