Graham Martin

Graham Martin OAM, MD, MBBS, FRANZCP, DPM, qualified in Medicine from King's College, London, in 1967. Trained in psychiatry in London and Adelaide, he was Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at The University of Queensland (2001-14). A proud family man and dedicated clinician, teacher, mentor and researcher, Graham is known best for work in prevention of youth suicide. Driving force for 20 national mental health conferences, innovator behind a range of audio-visual training programs, creator and editor of several professional journals, he has published 170 scientific papers, 19 books and 18 chapters in books. Graham has always been a keen photographer and, since 2009, a Haiku poet creating three haiku a day on Twitter (@grahamm44) in response to a daily prompt word from @haikuchallenge. All part of his own journey towards personal understanding and Mindfulness. 'A LITTLE BOOK OF MINDFUL HAIKU' includes photographs from travels in Asia, the Japanese Garden in Ipswich in Queensland, and a peaceful garden created at home. Each photograph is matched with a Mindful haiku. I hope this book brings you pleasure, as well as provoking reflections on your own peace of mind.
