Connor Bartlam, MCIL

Connor Bartlam, a London-based Translator, graduated from The University of Manchester in June 2017 with a degree in Modern Foreign Languages, specialising in French and German. Working as a Freelance Translator for several years now, he is making large strides in the field of languages and, with his first book “The Complete A-Z of German Verbs”, hopes to facilitate the learning process for younger generations.

With his passion for languages sparked by his multilingual German grandmother who was evacuated to England during the war, he endeavoured to continue the family line and showed early promise, winning several academic awards for languages at his Secondary School in Snaresbrook.

However, from an early age, it became apparent that the learning resources available were fairly limited and at the age of 15, Connor started compiling a list of German verbs and their many meanings, continuing this process throughout Sixth Form and University.

With the publishing of his very first book, he hopes that fellow linguists from Secondary School to University and beyond will revel in the very same passion he enjoys so much. He hopes that this will be the first of many languages books to come and intends to produce similar works in French.
