Chris Evans is a self-taught artist who started out producing graphics for the print trade ‘A sticky business of Cow Gum and Letraset’ before being lucky enough to move into animation, where he spent fifteen years as a layout artist, learning on the job about story and layout. When this, “the most enjoyable experience of his working life”, came to an end, but still with the need to make pictures, he turned his hand to picture books.
