Bonnie Blue Sunflower
Born amongst the wastes and strays,
between the sways of barley and the bonny Braes,
Bonnie Blue Sunflower bloomed like birds-of-paradise. Born to bloom amongst Heather and Thistle
in a beautiful Highland Summer haze. More than anything else, Bonnie wanted to be in the dreams of ladybirds and butterflies. Bonnie told many a friend. "One Midsummer's Day when the Lord takes me away, there will be a colourful abundance of ladybirds and butterflies to guide me on my way
to the beautiful Heaven amongst the blue Summer skies." On that Midsummer's Day when the Lord welcomed Bonnie to Heaven's bonny Scottish Braes, there truly was an abundance of ladybirds and butterflies in the Summer haze of Loch Ness.
