Andrea Govoni was born in Bologna on 3rd of July in 1975 and spent his school years in the province of the city. He inherited the family passion for film and cinema; his elder brother contributed to his interest in comics and illustration.
After finishing his studies at the ISART of Bologna in 1995, he attended a seminar on the eight-month comic book. The creative turning point occurred when he met Giorgina the Cat, in 2002, in the characteristic mountain areas between the regions of Emilia Romagna and Tuscany… The cat was entrusted to him by a middle-aged couple passing through those parts.
The cute feline has lived many adventures and has become for Andrea an infinite source of inspiration. His task now is only to collect, rework and illustrate the mythical exploits of Giorgina.
